Many thanks to Paul Jenkins for inviting me to take part in Nike78 and to his photography/film crew for documenting the outcome so beautifully. Below is the final Marathon Cake in its sugary glory! There is also a short making of/interview with yours truly on the official Nike78 page.

The online gallery showcasing the work produced by all of the creatives involved is now open online. As well as receiving a mention in the Creative Review blog, it looks like we will be taking part in the London Design Festival in September as well.

I went to see this on the weekend. It sounded a bit like free jazz. Zebra finches are so little and cute, I want one… I would urge you to go see but I think it ended yesterday. You can still find it on youtube though. The Curve, Barbican Art Gallery, London.

I’ve been invited to participate in NIKE78, “an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by NIKE.” Read more about it on the official website. Focusing on the close links between sport, fitness and nutrition, I’ve decided to attempt making a marathon cake: the negative calorific equivalent of a full-length marathon. Here’s a concept sketch to get me in the mood!

Hvass & Hannibal at Kemistry Gallery

I went to see this a few weeks ago and have been meaning to put it up on the blog… I was a fan of Hvass&Hannibal’s work before but the show really blew me away. I think I’m such an admirer because their work is very graphic and sophisticated, but also very poetic and fun at the same time. I loved the hand-made aspect too, all the multi-color screen prints, wood and paint give a real warmth to the whole body of work. I’m looking forward to what they do next.
